Adelaide SA
The capital, Adelaide, is the biggest attraction in South Australia, much of which is sparsely settled. SA, as the State is often referred to, actually has a higher percentage of desert within her boundaries than Western Australia. The bulk of her settlement and scenic features are located in the south-eastern fringe, around Adelaide. Just north is the Barossa Valley, Australia's most famous wine growing area. South Australia produces 60 per cent of Australia's wine, exporting more than six million litres each year.
